Hypnotherapy is a method of speaking to your subconscious– or the inner-most part of your mind– to eliminate old and undesirable habits and behaviors and replace them with new and beneficial ones. Utilizing techniques such as relaxation, suggestion, coping skills, and exploration, hypnotherapy helps promote healthy behaviors which can aid in weight loss, smoking cessation, sleep problems, phobias, stress, anxiety and so much more.

Goals of Hypnotherapy
  • Use of inner knowledge as a resource to find solutions for specific problems
  • Change in perception and/or behaviors to achieve personal goals such as weight loss, quitting smoking, and controlling addictions
  • Cope with grief, loss, and trauma in a safe and relaxed state while gaining insight and coping skills

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation that allows the mind to become more receptive to suggestions.

How does hypnosis work?
Hypnosis works through the “critical” or “analytical” parts of the mind entering into a relaxed state. Once, you obtain this relaxed state (trance) all other states will become stilling and you will be within a suggestible state of mind. These hypnosis suggestions have the ability to access what would normally be hidden capabilities of the mind to be able to retrieve deeper memories, experience nonexistent sensations, and even control motor systems in different ways.

Who can be Hypnotized?
—-Anyone!! Everyone has the ability to enter trance to be hypnotized. Hypnosis is a natural state, which can be easily achieved and enjoyable. We offer services all throughout Kentucky.

Are you asleep?
–No, you are fully awake during hypnosis. Throughout the hypnosis process you are awake and fully aware of everything that is going on around you. You will be in a state of peace, relaxation, and tranquility.

Will you have control over me?
–Absolutely, not! The hypnotherapist has no control over you and can not make you do anything that you do not want to while in trance. You are in complete and total control while in hypnosis. Actually, it is one of the primary goals of hypnotherapy to help you be calmer and within control of yourself.

How long does Hypnosis last?
—Depending on what you are seeking out hypnotherapy for determines how many sessions it could take. Typically, hypnotherapy is a short series of sessions; ranging from 3-5 sessions to obtain desired outcomes. There are certain goals that can benefit from periodic follow up or booster sessions to maintain desired outcomes.
